Job description

Connect to your Industry

We are constantly striving to improve the capabilities and service offerings in the Finance function. Our dynamic and fast-paced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team operates in a high-impact environment. It plays a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Group in making commercial decisions for our growing and complex business.

We are looking for a confident, curious and motivated individual to join our established FP&A team, helping to provide insightful analysis that supports business decisions. This role will suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with data, improving processes and learning how new tools and technologies can make Finance more efficient, insightful and forward-looking. There is wide scope for this role to grow and develop in the future.

Connect to your career at Deloitte

Deloitte drives progress. Using our vast range of expertise, that covers audit, risk advisory, and consulting services across tax, legal, business, technology and corporate finance, we help our clients become leaders wherever they choose to compete. To do this, we invest in outstanding people. We build teams of future thinkers, with diverse talents and backgrounds, and empower them all to reach for and achieve more.

What brings us all together at Deloitte? It’s how we approach the thousands of decisions we make every day. How we behave, our beliefs and our attitudes. In other words: our values. Whatever we do, wherever we are in the world, we lead the way, serve with integrity, take care of each other, foster inclusion, and collaborate for measurable impact. These five shared values lead every decision we make and action we take, guiding us to deliver impact how and where it matters most.

Connect to your opportunity

You will form part of the Core FP&A team, supporting key Finance reporting processes while learning how management information is produced, automated and used across the firm. The team measures business and economic trends, reviews past performance, identifies risks and opportunities, and supports the forecasting process for the firm’s future financial results.

This is a varied development role that combines regular reporting responsibilities with opportunities to contribute to improvements in data, insight and reporting capability. You will be supported to build technical and analytical skills through hands-on experience with reporting, automation and data tools, including exposure to SQL, Python, BI tools and emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning and GenAI.

In this role, you will:

  • Understand financial performance, driving and tracking actions to deliver our strategic priorities and key targets, and linking external data with internal financial performance.
  • Create a clear and coherent story of performance and actions for use within the firm and at business level, with deep-dive analysis into performance issues.
  • Support the development and enhancement of Finance reporting, dashboards and data visualisation outputs.
  • Help improve, streamline and automate BAU reporting and analytical processes, working with data from multiple sources.
  • Build exposure to analytical tools, automation and emerging technologies, including AI, ML and GenAI, and explore how they can improve Finance processes and insight.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

You’re a natural at taking initiative and enjoy understanding how things work. You are comfortable working with numbers, data and technology, and motivated by finding better ways to deliver insight. You will be a clear communicator who is keen to learn, ask questions and build effective relationships across Finance and the wider business.

Support is available to those interested in a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA or ACCA, and there will be opportunities to build technical skills through hands-on experience with data, reporting and automation tools.

The ideal candidate will combine strong numerical foundations, curiosity about data and technology, and a willingness to develop their technical, commercial and analytical skills.

Essentials:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • An interest in financial performance, management information, forecasting, budgeting and analysis.
  • Ability to work with data, identify trends and explain findings clearly, with support and guidance where needed.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to share analysis clearly and build positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • A proactive and curious mindset, with confidence to ask questions, take ownership of assigned tasks and suggest better ways of working.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, manage priorities and adapt in a fast-paced Finance environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, with the ability to organise, analyse and present information clearly.

Desirables:
  • Experience of reporting development and management information outputs.
  • Exposure to dashboard development, process improvement or requirements gathering.
  • Familiarity with, or curiosity about, BI and data tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL or Python.
  • An interest in automation, AI/GenAI and the use of emerging technologies to improve Finance processes and insight.
  • Experience in professional services or a complex business environment would be helpful, but is not essential.
