We’re recruiting for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a brand-new 3-bed therapeutic children’s home in Walsall, supporting children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established residential care provider at the launch stage of a new service, giving you the chance to shape the culture, standards, and long-term success of the home from day one.

The Role
As Registered Manager, you will hold full operational responsibility for the home, ensuring it is fully prepared for registration, operational readiness, and the successful admission of children and young people.
You’ll lead the home through setup, staffing, referrals, compliance, and ongoing development whilst ensuring the service consistently delivers high-quality care aligned with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Quality Standards.

The Role

You’ll lead the home through setup, staffing, referrals, compliance, and ongoing development whilst ensuring the service consistently delivers high-quality care aligned with Ofsted regulations and Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing residential care team
- Create a positive, therapeutic, and child-centred culture within the home
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding requirements
- Prepare the home for operational readiness prior to placements
- Manage referrals, matching processes, and relationships with local authorities
- Develop and oversee personalised care plans and risk assessments
- Maintain accurate records, audits, and compliance documentation
- Ensure the home remains inspection-ready at all times
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, and resource allocation effectively
- Oversee budget management and operational performance
- Build strong relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies
- Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for children
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within a Registered Manager or senior leadership role in children’s residential care
- Strong track record of positive Ofsted outcomes
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Experience managing referrals and liaising with local authorities
- Confident leading teams and developing positive cultures
- Strong organisational, communication, and decision-making skills
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people
- £50,000 – £55,000 salary package
