You've spent years finding good people for other businesses. What about finding them for your own?

If you're working in recruitment, you'll know that finding the right person is rarely as simple as posting an advert and waiting for applications.

Good recruiters know where to look, how to approach people and, importantly, how to get them interested in a conversation.

That's what Lynas Foodservice needs.

They're creating a new Recruitment & Onboarding Specialist position to take greater ownership of how they attract, recruit and welcome people into the business.

And there's plenty to get your teeth into.

What's the opportunity?

Lynas is an established foodservice business operating across Ireland, employing people in everything from warehousing and distribution to sales, commercial and support functions.

Recruitment is an important part of keeping that business running, and they want to get better at it.

Rather than relying on applications arriving or recruitment agencies finding everyone for them, they want someone who can take a more proactive approach.

You'll work with hiring managers to understand what they need, identify suitable candidates, approach them directly and manage the process through to appointment.

You'll also take responsibility for onboarding, making sure that once someone accepts an offer, their experience of joining the business is a good one.

It's a new role, so you'll have the opportunity to influence how things are done rather than simply inherit an established process.

What will you actually be doing?

  • Finding and approaching candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals and your own networks.
  • Screening candidates and helping hiring managers make informed decisions.
  • Managing recruitment across operational, commercial and support roles.
  • Building relationships with recruitment agencies and using them where they add value.
  • Developing candidate pipelines so recruitment isn't always starting from scratch.
  • Managing the onboarding process, including offers, contracts, pre-employment checks and inductions.
  • Identifying ways to improve recruitment processes and the experience candidates have with Lynas.

Who would this suit?

You might be working for a recruitment agency and wondering whether you'd enjoy being on the other side of the desk.

Or you might already be recruiting internally and want a role where you can take more ownership.

Either way, you'll need to know how to find candidates, not just process applications.

You'll be comfortable speaking with people at different levels, managing several vacancies at once and working with hiring managers who have competing priorities.

Experience recruiting within manufacturing, foodservice, logistics, distribution or similar environments would be useful, but it's not essential.

Neither is a CIPD qualification.

What's more important is that you understand recruitment, can build relationships and are prepared to get involved in the detail.

Why consider Lynas?

This isn't a role where everything has already been worked out.

There are processes to improve, relationships to build and opportunities to make recruitment more effective.

You'll have the chance to make a visible difference to how people join the business and how Lynas approaches recruitment in the future.

Benefits include enhanced annual leave, a health cash plan following qualifying service, enhanced sick pay, employee discounts, a subsidised canteen and development opportunities.
