The Slough location is home to the UK Sales Organisation but also there are a number of regional and corporate functions also based from the Slough site that reside outside of the UK Sales Organisation. This means there are a wide variety of roles and functions working from the office. The UK Sales Organisation works in conjunction with the Product Business Units to sell products to a wide variety of customers. Products include Lighting, Fire, Security, Power Quality, Power Distribution and Industrial Controls

What you’ll do:

The primary function of the Project Manager role is to deliver assigned projects on behalf of the UK&I Project Team Manager within agreed cost, quality, and time parameters, while ensuring full compliance with contractual obligations and the Eaton Code of Ethics. The role requires ownership of the complete project delivery lifecycle, from handover through to final completion and cash collection, while maintaining strong relationships with Eaton’s key clients.

The Project Manager is also responsible for leading the resolution of project challenges to achieve on-time delivery to the required quality standards, supporting the achievement of the Eaton Profit Planthrough accurate forecasted and risk mitigation, and acting as a professional and positive advocate for both the client and Eaton at all times.

  • Managing projects within Eaton’s contracted scope of work, generating change orders, and improving project margins
  • Accurately forecasting and reporting revenue and resource requirements
  • Identifying, assessing, logging, and escalating risks early (commercial, technical, scope, and schedule) and managing those risks throughout the project delivery cycle
  • Managing the technical aspects of projects to meet contract requirements and client quality expectations, including controlling scope creep, managing RFIs, obtaining client approval of drawings, RAMS, and quality check/test documents, compiling snag lists, and ensuring full resolution of snags
  • Managing project timelines for products, services, documentation, and quality to achieve on-time completion
  • Using Eaton and supplier resources efficiently to reduce costs while maintaining on-time completion
  • Maintaining technical familiarity with the Eaton product range and using this knowledge effectively with clients
  • Continually seeking ways to improve business processes, upgrade existing methods, deploy new initiatives, and recommend innovative solutions based on analysis and client trends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND/HNC level qualification or equivalent experience in electrical engineering.
  • CSCS, SMSTS required - can be provided.
  • 3+ years experience in similar Project Manager Role


Skills:

  • Proven Project Management experience and skills, including formal certification: PMP/CAPM Certification or Prince 2 equivalent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CDM Regulations
  • Strong attention to detail while balancing various activities and competing demands.
  • Good practical knowledge of as many of the following as possible: MV switchgear, UPS systems, LV switchgear, Transformers, BMS/SCADA systems, Energy Storage.
  • Excellent skills in using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Self motivated.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience of working with customers is critical.
  • Strong attention to detail while balancing various activities and competing demands.
  • English language skills (written and spoken) are essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and show a high level of composure
