We are recruiting an individual for our Movement & Place (Transport Planning) discipline to provide transport modelling support to help deliver a range of projects across the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We are in the process of delivering a number of Local Transport Plans and are utilising the latest modelling tools and appraisal techniques to assess bus, rail and road interventions as well as active travel and public realm initiatives. Our regional team also works across our national business and therefore contribute to projects at a national scale for many other local and national government bodies and the private sector. We are also working closely with our clients to support their digital transformation and are developing new initiatives to help them deliver on their Net Zero commitments.

Your role

We are looking for an experienced individual who wishes to contribute to a high performing, dynamic team that works seamlessly with our wider national Movement & Place business. Collaborating with specialists from across our business as part of multi-disciplinary teams, you'll work on flagship regeneration, development and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will join a team with a well-balanced blend of skills focused on meeting our client needs. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to add further value and support our ambitious growth agenda.

About you

The successful candidate will be able to provide strategic advice to our clients on their modelling requirements and provide oversight and guidance to our modelling teams in the development and application of complex models. Applicants will be flexible, self-motivated and will be expected to demonstrate a capability in any of the following:

  • Strong analytical, numeracy and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong report writing capability.
  • Sound technical competence.
  • Ability to work under pressure and proven success in meeting deadlines.
  • Confident team worker with ablity to work independently.
  • Experience of working to time and budget constraints.

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate technical skills and competencies commensurate with their level of experience in areas such as:

  • Using strategic modelling packages such as CUBE, SATURN, EMME/2 and VISUM across highway or other modes.
  • Demand modelling.
  • Experience of economic evaluation of transport schemes using COBA and/or TUBA.

Security clearance
