Role Summary:

The Pricing Director is responsible for shaping and driving the pricing agenda across the organization, strengthening pricing capabilities and embedding a more consistent, value-driven approach to pricing.

The role will develop the overall pricing strategy and translate it into practical frameworks, tools and ways of working that support revenue growth, margin improvement and stronger commercial decision-making. Working closely with divisional and local teams, the Pricing Director will help ensure that pricing becomes an integral part of commercial planning and execution.

A key element of the role is building engagement and understanding around pricing. This means helping leaders and commercial teams recognize its impact on business performance, while providing the support and expertise needed to turn strategy into action.

This is a highly visible international role requiring strategic thinking, strong commercial judgement and a hands-on approach, with significant interaction across businesses, markets and functions.

Key responsibilities:

Drive the Pricing Strategy

  • Develop and continuously evolve the overall pricing strategy and priorities.
  • Position pricing as a key lever for revenue growth, margin improvement and profitability.
  • Translate strategic direction into practical frameworks and approaches that can be applied across the organization.
  • Lead the development and implementation of value-based pricing strategies that reflect customer value, competitive positioning and willingness to pay.
  • Develop vertical-based pricing strategies tailored to the value drivers, competitive dynamics and customer needs of priority market verticals.

Strengthen Pricing Processes and Performance

  • Establish clear KPIs and approaches to measuring pricing performance and price realization.
  • Develop practical methodologies, playbooks and analytical tools to support commercial teams.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve pricing processes and ways of working.
  • Design, implement and govern a structured discount matrix, including approval thresholds, escalation rules and controls to improve price realization and margin discipline.

Embed Pricing Excellence

  • Partner with divisional and local teams to integrate pricing into commercial planning and day-to-day decision-making.
  • Support key pricing initiatives, projects and workshops across the business.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on pricing opportunities and challenges.
  • Partner with Sales and Commercial teams to influence and embed value-based selling, equipping teams to articulate differentiated customer value and reduce reliance on discounting.

Build Pricing Capability

  • Strengthen pricing expertise and commercial understanding across the organization.
  • Develop training, e-learning and targeted development initiatives.
  • Build a strong network of pricing professionals and support the development of pricing leaders.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for an experienced pricing leader with strong commercial judgement, deep pricing expertise and the ability to operate successfully within a complex, decentralized international organization.

The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between strategy and execution, using data and commercial insight to identify opportunities and translate them into practical business actions. They will also be a strong communicator who can make pricing relevant and accessible, influence senior stakeholders and create commitment without relying on direct authority.

They should be proactive, pragmatic and collaborative, with the confidence to challenge existing approaches while building strong relationships across businesses, functions and geographies.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in pricing, revenue management, commercial excellence or a related discipline, including significant direct pricing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of pricing strategies, methodologies, processes and performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience in value-based pricing, price architecture, discount governance and margin optimization.
  • Strong track record of influencing sales organizations and embedding value-based selling practices.
  • Experience developing differentiated pricing strategies across customer segments, channels or industry verticals.
  • Solid commercial and financial understanding, with the ability to connect pricing decisions to revenue, margin and profitability.
  • Experience working within a large, international organization, ideally with a decentralized operating model.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change across businesses, functions and geographies.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex pricing concepts and make them commercially relevant.

  • University degree in business, economics, finance, engineering or a related discipline.
