PATIENT SERVICE REP SUPERVISOR

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for supervsion of office personnel and oversight of day to day departmental operations to ensure a positive, patient centric experience. This includes the consistent implementation and adherence to organizational policies and procedures as well as oversight of human resource managament such as: payroll, time and attendance, coaching and mentoring of the team’s performance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Supervises daily office operations to ensure all services are provided in a professional manner to meet the patient’s, customer’s, and provider’s needs 2. Builds a collaborative, engaged team for an efficient, patient centric experience 3. Utilizes Language of Caring in all interactions 4. Orients, coaches, mentors and evaluates all office personnel within assigned area to ensure competency to meet hospital’s high standards 5. Provides input into the annual budget and operates within the boundaries of an established budget 6. Monitors timely reconcilation and release of clinic charges and accurate point of service collection procedures to support revenue cycle metrics 7. Ensures process for same day authorizations is consistent with processes in financial clearance 8. Actively participates in process improvement initiatives to enhance quality outcomes 9. Ensures location specific metric collection and goal attainment 10. Oversees patient appointment processes and ensures patient access goals are attained

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement.
- 3 years medical office experience with knowledge of third party payer requirements and authorization experience
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with strong interpersonal and team building skills; familiarity with medical terminology
- Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions
- Ability to supervise a team of Patient Service Rep employees
- Knowledge of computer systems and electronic medical records
