Operations Co-ordinator (Regional Facilites Maintenance)

Blue Bear Self Storage is a premier container self-storage provider. We are seeking a highly organised, mobile, and "hands-on" Operations Coordinator to join our growing team. This is a multi-disciplinary role designed for a proactive problem-solver who takes pride in operational excellence.
You will be the guardian of our sites—ensuring they are secure, functional, and aesthetically aligned with the "Blue Bear" brand. This role balances physical site work with high-level contractor management and security oversight.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
1. Security & Contract Management
● Vendor Management: Primary point of contact for third-party contractors. You will manage the performance, scheduling, and service delivery of Landscaping, CCTV, and Gate Maintenance teams.
● Security Integrity: Proactively monitor and manage site security infrastructure. This includes ensuring CCTV networks are operational, and Automated Gate Systems are serviced and functioning correctly to maintain site access.
● Compliance & RAMS: Ensure all contractors provide up-to-date Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). You are responsible for ensuring all site works adhere to Health & Safety protocols.
● Cost & Quality Control: Review completed works against invoices. Ensure landscaping meets aesthetic standards and technical repairs are completed to a high standard before sign-off.
2. Site Maintenance & "Hands-On" Upkeep
● Technical Repairs: Use basic handyman skills to address immediate site issues (e.g., repairing signage, minor gate adjustments, and site hardware fixes).● Aesthetic Audits: Conduct site inspections to ensure brand standards are met—focusing on cleanliness, weed control, and general site presentation.
● Unit Inspections: Conduct routine customer unit checks before removal of goods and debt collection.
3. Logistics & Site Development
● Project Liaison: Act as the on-site lead for new site build-outs, coordinating with groundworks teams and layout planners.● Fleet Coordination: Manage the delivery and precision positioning of new shipping containers, ensuring they are levelled and customer-ready.
● Inventory Control: Manage on-site stock levels for security locks, branded signage, and maintenance supplies.
Work Pattern & Travel
● The Split: A dynamic weekly mix of office-based strategy, remote admin, and regional site visits. The role has variability however you can expect working from home 2 days, Office 1 day and Sites 2 days per week.● The Radius: Frequent travel is required; you must be comfortable travelling up to 3 hours to reach sites.
● The Hub: To remain central to our network, candidates should ideally be based in the Northampton, Milton Keynes, Oxford and surrounding areas. Our office is located in the centre of Northampton.
Candidate Requirements
● Maintenance Competency: Proven ability to handle basic tools and conduct minor physical repairs.
● Contractor Management: Experience overseeing third-party service providers (CCTV or Security experience is a major plus).
● Self-Starter: The ability to manage your own diary and prioritise tasks across multiple locations.
● Communication: Strong reporting skills to keep the Head of Operations updated on site status and project timelines.
● Driving Licence: A full, clean UK driving licence is mandatory.
Pay: £28,000.00 per year
