Contract type: Full time

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operational Safety Advisor (OSA) to join our Area 10 account. This role is site-based across the North West, with a blend of field and office working, with office locations around Warrington and the wider network.

At Amey, we work in partnership with National Highways to keep the country moving safely. We’re now looking for an Operational Safety Advisor who will play a key role in delivering visible, practical, and risk-based health and safety support across the network.

You will support operational teams, supervisors, managers and supply chain partners to ensure compliance with legal requirements, National Highways standards and Amey procedures, while driving continuous improvement and embedding our Zero Code culture across Area 10.

What you’ll do:

Operational Safety Assurance – Providing visible safety leadership across operational sites through inspections, engagement tours and proactive interventions

Safety & Compliance – Supporting compliance with health and safety legislation, National Highways standards and Amey procedures, including RAMS and safe systems of work

Audit & Inspection – Delivering planned and reactive audits and inspections, identifying non-conformances and supporting timely close-out of actions

Incident Management – Supporting incident investigations, identifying root causes and ensuring effective learning and action implementation

Performance & Reporting – Maintaining accurate records, analysing trends and supporting the production of safety performance reports and insights

Supply Chain Assurance – Monitoring and influencing subcontractor compliance, ensuring alignment with Amey’s standards and expectations

Continuous Improvement – Driving improvement initiatives and promoting a proactive, learning-led safety culture across the contract

Stakeholder Collaboration – Building strong relationships with operational teams, National Highways and supply chain partners
