The role

The Governors of St Matthew’s CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a Mid Day Assistant who is available for seven and a half hours per week, term time only. This is a permanent position to start September 2026.

We seek to appoint a self-motivated, caring individual to join our team of Mid Day Assistants supervising children from Reception through to Year 6 during the lunch break. Duties may involve setting up tables, supervising mealtime and outdoor play and games.

Previous experience not required, however, individuals should be able to display a caring, attitude towards all children.

If you are successfully shortlisted you will be required to complete a ‘criminal records self-disclosure’ and we will gather 2 references. An example of our reference pro-forma is included in the application pack. Our recruitment process will include an observation and a formal interview.

The successful candidates will be subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service with Child Barring checks and the receipt of satisfactory references.
