Job Description
OBJECTIVES & MISSIONS:Define, validate and support the manufacturing process from engineering definition to meet the requirements of HSE, quality, cost, delivery and with a consideration for both people and innovation.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
- Define manufacturing processes, ensure all processes are consistent and compliant with specifications and One Safran standards
- Design manufacturing processes with a Takt/Flow philosophy and ergonomic risks in mind
- Create and validate standard operating procedures, work instruction sheets, quality control points, methods of inspection and controls approval authorities for engineering disciplines
- Create routes, BOMS, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets, COS's and production support drawings
- Ensure that the design of the process meets the defined targets (quality, cost, delivery)
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers (internal and external)
- Plan, drive and coordinate the activities contributing to the industrial product validation
- Strong stakeholder management within Programmes including support to Health & Safety, Digitalisation, Environmental initiatives, etc.
- Represent manufacturing engineering with the customer, in coordination with Industrial Programme Manager
- Establish global manufacturing process concepts, participate in the selection of plant and equipment and the preparation of factory layouts, and support the definition of detailed workplace layouts
- Manage engineering risk within the UAP by using a PFMEA approach and through the use of SPC to ensure sustainability and a repeatable manufacturing process
MANAGE PROJECTS:
- Drive and deliver projects within the scope of the role.
PRODUCE:
- Provide line/process support to the UAP to facilitate that product flow is in line with commitments
- Engage in lean projects and ensure that changes introduced through improvement projects are incorporated within the ERP systems.
- Participate in level 1 and level 2 QRQC.
GENERAL:
- Participates;
o In the daily execution and QRQC meetings
o In certification/approval audits and assessments
o In rate readiness & capital investment exercises
o In structured problem solving exercises eg. 8D, DMAIC
- Identify and escalate any risks or concerns in relation to product or people safety using the company tools and processes.
- Take personal accountability for continuous personal and professional development
Job Requirements
SKILLS & REQUIRED QUALITIES- Sound understanding of the quantity and quality of the engineering definition to make an industrialisation and ability to work with this independently.
- Technical Stamp (or achieved within 6 months for new entrants within role)
- Demonstrable experience of DMAIC problem solving
- Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes utilised on site
- Demonstrable experience of timely delivery (e.g. projects) with consideration of cost
- Promoter of product and process integrity
- Ability to work independently when supporting industrialisation processes
- Working knowledge of the One Safran Manufacturing Handbook.
- Satisfy all relevant requirements within the skills matrix at the appropriate level
Tools:
- Familiar with the information systems used in engineering and the supply chain: MRPII (ERP), Osmoz, and PLM systems.
- Familiarity with Catia
- Familiar with desktop tools
- Appreciation of project management principles

- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Capable of communicating clearly and concisely

Knowledge, Experience, Training and Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BEng or equivalent
