Role: Logistics / Transport Assistant

Reports to: UK Distribution Manager

Location: Darlington

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (4:00pm finish on Fridays) with occasional overtime by arrangement.

Salary: £27,000

Fixed Term contract for 12 months

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with logistics or transport experience who enjoys variety in their role. No two days are the same, and you'll play a key part in ensuring deliveries, stock movements and transport operations run smoothly while working closely with colleagues across the business.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting day-to-day transport and logistics operations.
• Previous experience with a 3PL and carrier environment would be beneficial.
• Coordinating stock movements, returns and transport requirements.
• Updating and maintaining delivery matrices and transport information on a weekly basis.
• Providing administrative support using systems such as SAP.
• Working closely with the UK Distribution Manager, transport providers, warehouse teams, branch colleagues and the Order Management team.
• Responding to changing priorities and helping resolve logistical challenges as they arise.
• Ensuring transport activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
  
  

Who we’re looking for:

• Previous transport, logistics or supply chain experience.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly to changing plans and priorities.
• Good communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
• Experience using SAP or similar systems (desirable).
