Our client, a thriving primary school in Stockton-on-Tees, Durham, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full Time Learning Support Assistant to join their dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the academic and personal development of our students, ensuring they reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our teaching staff to provide individualised attention and tailored assistance to students who require additional support. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering targeted interventions and small-group lessons to help students overcome learning barriers and achieve their goals.
  • Collaborating with teachers to create and implement effective personalised learning plans, adapting strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students, offering guidance, encouragement, and reinforcement to help them succeed.
  • Monitoring student progress, maintaining detailed records, and communicating regularly with teachers and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning materials, resources, and the general upkeep of the classroom environment.
  • Participating actively in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.

To thrive in this role, you will need to possess a genuine passion for education and a deep commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students. You should have previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational setting, with a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be liaising with teachers, parents, and other members of the school community on a regular basis. You should also be highly organised, proactive, and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
