Keyworker – Launch Pad
We are seeking a Key Worker to join Launch Pad, our specialist provision supporting young people who may be disengaged from education or have experienced challenging educational journeys
The Keyworker role is central to learner success within Launch Pad and is similar in nature to a Teaching Assistant, with a strong focus on pastoral support, engagement and relationship‑building. You will work closely with teaching staff to support learners both in and out of the classroom, helping them to feel safe, supported and motivated to learn
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide in‑class and pastoral support to learners within Launch Pad
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
  • Support learners’ engagement, attendance and behaviour
  • Work with small groups or individuals to remove barriers to learning
  • Support maths and other learning activities where appropriate
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and trauma‑informed learning environment
  • Liaise with staff to support learners’ personal and educational progress

About You

  • Experience of working with young people, ideally within youth work, alternative provision, mentoring or pastoral support
  • A calm, patient and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Confidence working with learners who may be disengaged or anxious

Strong maths skills would be an advantage, particularly to support Functional Skills lessons, but are not essential
Why Join Launch Pad?

  • Be part of a values‑led provision focused on re‑engagement and empowerment
  • Small classes and a supportive team culture
  • A rewarding role making a real difference to young people’s lives

If you are passionate about supporting young people and helping them re‑engage with education, we would welcome your application
