Date: 3 hours ago
City: Sevenoaks
Contract type: Full time
About The Role

As a Junior Account Manager at Akita, you will support the delivery of excellent service to our clients while developing your account management and commercial skills within a busy IT services environment. Working closely with experienced Account Managers, sales colleagues, service delivery teams, and technical engineers, you will help maintain strong client relationships and ensure agreed services are delivered effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support client relationships: Build professional and trusted relationships with clients, acting as a reliable point of contact for queries, updates, and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate client requests: Log, track, and manage customer requests, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate internal team and followed through to completion.
  • Monitor service delivery: Review service performance, open tickets, project updates, and outstanding actions to help ensure clients receive a consistent and responsive service.
  • Maintain accurate records: Keep account information, contact details, meeting notes, opportunities, renewals, and actions up to date in the relevant CRM and business systems.
  • Support commercial activity: Prepare quotations, proposals, service reviews, renewal information, and change requests, escalating commercial queries where appropriate.
  • Contribute to account growth: Work closely with Account Managers and Solutions Consultants to understand client objectives, identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and help develop meaningful technology roadmaps that deliver value for customers while contributing to the commercial success of the account management team.
  • Coordinate internal teams: Work collaboratively with service desk, project, technical, finance, and sales teams to support effective communication and timely delivery.
  • Manage follow-up actions: Track commitments and deadlines, provide clear updates, and raise risks or issues promptly when support is required.
  • Deliver professional service: Communicate clearly, respond promptly, and maintain high standards of organisation, reliability, and customer care.
  • Develop your knowledge: Build your understanding of managed IT services, Microsoft technologies, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, business systems, and the needs of our clients.

What we’re looking for:

  • Customer-focused approach: Experience in a customer service, account support, sales support, administration, or similar role, with a genuine interest in helping clients achieve positive outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills: Confident communicating with clients and colleagues by telephone, email, video call, and in person, while adapting communication to different audiences.
  • Organisation and attention to detail: Able to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and follow up on actions consistently.
  • Commercial awareness: An interest in business relationships, client retention, sales opportunities, service renewals, and the commercial impact of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Teamwork: Comfortable working with colleagues across different departments and asking for guidance when needed.
  • Problem-solving ability: Able to understand client needs, identify the next steps, and escalate issues appropriately when they are outside your knowledge or authority.
  • Technology confidence: Comfortable using Microsoft 365 applications, CRM systems, ticketing systems, spreadsheets, and other business software. Experience with an IT services environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Personal attributes: Proactive, dependable, approachable, professional, and willing to learn and develop within the role.

You do not need to have extensive account management experience. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to build effective working relationships. Training, support, and mentoring will be provided to help you develop your knowledge and progress within the team.

What we offer:

  • Professional development: Structured support, mentoring, and opportunities to develop account management, commercial, and technology skills.
  • Collaborative environment: Work alongside experienced account managers, sales professionals, and technical teams in a supportive workplace.
  • Varied client exposure: Gain experience supporting a diverse range of clients and understanding their business and technology requirements.
  • Career progression: Opportunities to grow into an Account Manager or broader client services role as your skills and experience develop.
  • Flexible working: Hybrid working arrangements and occasional client or office attendance as required.

Akita is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified candidates. We promote an inclusive, respectful workplace where everyone can thrive.
