Investor Relations Manager

Holland & Barrett

Date: 4 hours ago
City: Nuneaton
Contract type: Full time
Nuneaton or London | Full-time | Permanent | Hybrid

You'll be based from our Nuneaton or London office, spending an average of 2-3 days per week in the office (minimum of 2 days). Some travel to other H&B locations may be required, along with occasional travel outside the UK.

The Role

Numbers are only part of the Investor Relations story.

The other part is knowing what matters, why it matters and how to communicate it clearly.

As Investor Relations Manager, you'll help shape how Holland & Barrett is understood by shareholders, lenders and other external financial stakeholders.

Working closely with our FP&A and Investor Relations Director, CFO and wider Finance teams, you'll take financial performance, strategy, market insight and our 2030 Plan and turn them into a clear, credible external story.

You'll be close to some important conversations too - preparing senior leaders for shareholder and lender meetings, supporting Board reporting, analysing our peers and the market, and helping shape the messages we take outside the business.

It's a role for someone who is comfortable with the detail, but knows that the real value comes from understanding the story behind it.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Help shape H&B's investor narrative, connecting financial performance, strategy and long-term value creation into clear, compelling messages.
  • Work closely with FP&A to understand performance, outlook, risks and opportunities - making sure our external communications reflect the agreed Group view.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations, updates and analysis for shareholders, banks and lenders, tailoring the story to the audience.
  • Prepare the Director of FP&A & Investor Relations and CFO for external meetings, including briefing materials, key messages, anticipated questions and supporting analysis.
  • Work with Corporate Communications on financial content for media enquiries, making sure information is accurate, clear and consistent.
  • Build a strong understanding of H&B's strategy and 2030 Plan, and translate key developments into relevant external messaging.
  • Analyse peers, competitors and market trends, bringing useful outside-in insight to the investor proposition.
  • Monitor shareholder and market themes and highlight what matters to senior Finance leaders.
  • Support Board reporting, investor engagement and the wider Investor Relations agenda.
  • Maintain strong governance around external financial communications, where accuracy, confidentiality and judgement are critical.

What You'll Bring

  • At least 18 months' Investor Relations experience within a large, complex corporate organisation, including exposure to investor communications, financial results and senior management preparation.
  • Strong financial and commercial understanding, including financial statements, cash flow, business performance and the drivers behind value creation.
  • The ability to look beyond the numbers and work out what the important message is.
  • Experience producing investor presentations, financial communications and briefing materials for sophisticated financial audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to connect financial, commercial and strategic information and turn it into useful insight.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders, asking the right questions and constructively challenging where needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex financial and strategic information clear and concise.
  • Experience of peer, competitor or market analysis and an understanding of how it can inform senior management and investor conversations.
  • High standards of accuracy, discretion and judgement when handling confidential and commercially sensitive information.
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, alongside degree-level education or equivalent experience.

If you're good with numbers but even better at working out what they mean, this is a chance to put that skill to work where it really matters.

You'll help shape the story we take to the market, prepare senior leaders for important conversations and bring an external perspective into how we understand our own performance.

If that sounds like you, we'd like to hear from you.
