Intelligence Researcher - CCU
Devon and Cornwall Police
Salary: £27,204 rising to £34,662 per annum + Excellent Benefits including Government Pension
Location: Plymouth, Crownhill
Closing Date: 01/09/2026, Midday
Hours per week: This role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.
About the role:
Every day the Counter Corruption Unit receives information that could reveal misconduct, criminality, vulnerability, or emerging threats to the integrity of policing. The difference between a concern and a successful outcome is often the quality of the intelligence behind it.
We are looking for a highly motivated and inquisitive Intelligence Researcher to join our specialist team. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of protecting public trust and confidence in policing by transforming information into intelligence, and intelligence into action.
Using your analytical skills, professional curiosity, and attention to detail, you will gather and assess information from a range of sources, identify hidden connections, develop intelligence opportunities, and uncover risks that others may overlook. Your research will directly support sensitive investigations, proactive intelligence development, and operational decision-making designed to prevent corruption and uphold the highest standards of professional behaviour.
Working in a fast-paced and highly specialised environment, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the organisation, protecting communities, and ensuring that integrity remains at the heart of policing.
