Infrastructure & Security Technician

We're looking for an Infrastructure & Security Technician to join our IT team in Bedford. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically capable IT professional who enjoys solving problems, maintaining secure and reliable systems, and playing a key role in delivering infrastructure and security projects across a fast-paced multi-site business.

Working closely with the Infrastructure & Security Engineer and wider IT team, you'll help maintain and improve our infrastructure, support cybersecurity initiatives, lead elements of IT projects and provide 3rd line technical expertise across the business.

Position:

What you'll be doing:

• Providing 3rd line infrastructure support, resolving escalated technical issues and ensuring services meet agreed SLAs.
• Supporting and maintaining our core IT infrastructure, networks, cloud services and security platforms.
• Managing server, endpoint and infrastructure patching in line with agreed maintenance schedules and change control processes.
• Monitoring and maintaining backup systems, resolving issues and carrying out routine restore testing.
• Supporting disaster recovery testing and business continuity activities.
• Delivering infrastructure, security and service improvement projects from implementation through to business adoption.
• Carrying out routine health checks, software and firmware updates, licence renewals and preventative maintenance.
• Maintaining technical documentation, asset records and knowledge base content.
• Working with suppliers and third-party partners to support service delivery.
• Sharing knowledge and mentoring colleagues within the IT Support team.
• Identifying opportunities to improve service performance, resilience and security across the business.
  
  

Requirements:

What we're looking for:

• Experience supporting Windows Server, Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Good understanding of networking, virtualisation and IT security fundamentals.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery and patch management processes.
• Experience working within IT service management and change control frameworks.
• A proactive problem solver with strong communication skills.
• Someone who enjoys learning, taking ownership and making a difference.
