WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY

This is an opportunity to join a progressive group within Camlin, making full use of Camlin's innovative technology and instruments to provide a service to customers to identify and locate faults on the electricity supply network before customers are affected. The service currently operates 24/7 with staff employed on either a 12hr day shift or 12hr night shift basis.

As Incident Support Engineer your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:


RESPONSIBILITES

  • Proactively liaise with customers regarding the status of their monitored network
  • Learn and understand capabilities, operation and limitations of Camlin and other manufacturers' fault location and monitoring equipment
  • Provide technical advice to customers on supported technologies
  • Learn and utilise the customer's GIS systems to obtain cable and connection information
  • Ensure active circuits have correct cable information added to the system
  • Employ Camlin’s fault location algorithms on field data to determine fault location
  • Prepare reports and send to customers i.e. suspected fault locations, device health
  • Follow up reports with external contacts and confirm final information
  • Identify where further follow up is required
  • Maintain a log of actively managed circuits / devices / systems
  • Manage equipment firmware/software updates


WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Conscientious individual demonstrating attention to detail along with high levels of ownership and commitment
  • IT literate, able to learn and use new computer applications and tools
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willing to work shifts.


DESIRED CRITERIA

The following skills will be valuable but are not essential:

  • Experience with customer relations, particularly in a service or support environment.
  • Experience from an electrical background
  • Willing to develop the skills required to take on additional responsibilities of the Fault Analyst
