The Balmoral is located at Edinburgh’s most prestigious address, No. 1 Princes Street, where the Old Town stops and the New Town begins. Our hotel’s majestic clock defines the city’s skyline and since the day we opened in 1902, it has run three minutes fast to ensure our guests will never miss their train.

Your key responsibilities

Rocco Forte Hotels is a collection of iconic hotels that respects the individuality of the location and its team members, encouraging them to be their natural selves while providing a local, authentic experience to our guests.

As a valued part of the Forte family, you will:

  • Be the first contact and provide a flawless welcome to our discerning guests
  • Ensure that our exceptional service standards are met from arrival to set the tone of their dining experience
  • Interpret, understate, and act on the needs of our guests, demonstrating discretion in your interactions and being able to communicate effectively with the team to guarantee guests' needs are met.
  • Make sure the expectations of our guests are met at all times
  • Act naturally in all your communications

Who we are looking for

This is a fixed-term, full-time position working 39 hours per week.

The successful candidate will be able to work a flexible rota, including day, evening, and weekend shifts, to support our business needs.

The expected salary package of a Host is £32,364 per annum (salary plus discretionary service charge)
