We're looking for 2 Crash Prep Technicians to join our Crash Laboratory team in Nuneaton. This is a hands-on role preparing vehicles for crash testing, fitting instrumentation and supporting the collection of test data as part of a highly skilled and collaborative team. You'll play an important role in ensuring vehicle test programmes are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

This could be an excellent opportunity for someone with a vehicle workshop, automotive or test facility background who enjoys practical, problem-solving work and wants to be involved in cutting-edge vehicle safety testing.

Please note; this role involves working shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles for crash testing activities.
  • Fit instrumentation, sensors, on-board cameras and data acquisition equipment.
  • Carry out vehicle preparation activities including trim removal, restraint system removal/refit, weighing and ballasting.
  • Perform sensor health checks and support test data acquisition activities.
  • Support fabrication activities including cutting, grinding and drilling.
  • Follow quality, safety and testing procedures in line with laboratory standards.
  • Support equipment checks, maintenance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for test execution

What You'll Need

  • Experience working in a vehicle workshop, automotive environment or similar technical setting.
  • A qualification in an Automotive or Engineering discipline, such as NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3.
  • Strong practical skills and an interest in vehicle technology.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and contribute to continuous improvement. Experience of crash testing, vehicle safety systems, instrumentation, data acquisition or test facilities would be advantageous but is not essential.
