Healthcare Assistant - Sexual Health

Job Introduction

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our Integrated Contraception and Sexual Health Service in Cheshire West & Chester.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support the delivery of high-quality, confidential sexual health services. You will play a key role in providing clinical support, promoting healthy lifestyles, and ensuring patients receive safe and effective care within a welcoming and non-judgemental environment.

• Contraception and family planning
• STI testing and treatment
• HIV clinical care and support

Key Responsibilities

• Support clinicians in delivering high-quality care within clinic settings
• Assist with specialist clinics (e.g. implant and IUD procedures)
• Carry out clinical tasks such as:
• Phlebotomy (if trained)
• Microscopy (if trained)
• Asymptomatic screening
• Provide health promotion advice and support patients with sexual health education
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting
• Maintain clinic stock levels and support smooth clinic operations
  
  

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong patient-focused approach
• Care Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  
  

Desirable:

• Venepuncture experience
• Knowledge or experience of microscopy
• Experience working in a healthcare or clinical setting
