Orchard Park High School have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our existing Science team on a part-time basis
As an Exams Invigilator, you will support the delivery of and upholding the integrity of the examination/assessment process, in accordance with the joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and Orchard Park High School instructions

As an Exams Invigilator, you will support the delivery of and upholding the integrity of the examination/assessment process, in accordance with the joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and Orchard Park High School instructions
Before exams
- Report to and be briefed by the Examination Officer prior to each exam session
- Keep confidential exam papers and materials secure before, during and after exams
- Ensure exam rooms are set out according to the instructions/requirements
- Admit candidates into exam rooms under formal conditions
- Give full attention to conducting the examinations properly
- Identify, seat, and instruct candidates in the conduct of their exams
- Distribute the correct exam papers and materials to candidates
- Deal with candidate queries
- Take responsibility for starting exams using the appropriate exam script
During exams
- Supervise and observe candidates at all times and be vigilant throughout exams, giving complete attention to this duty
- Be vigilant and remain aware of incidents or emerging situations
- Keep disruption in exam rooms to a minimum
- Deal with emergencies or irregularities effectively
- Record/report any incidents, disruption or irregularities
- Complete attendance registers
- Deal with candidate questions according to the regulations
After exams
- Instruct candidates in finishing their exams and to collect exam scripts and exam materials
- Dismiss candidates from the exam room
- Check candidates’ names on scripts, match the details on the attendance register
- Securely return all exam scripts and exam materials to the Exams Officer
