About The Role
We are currently seeking an Evening Receptionist to join our Customer Contact and Admissions department at The Bedford College Group.

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
Today, the Group is made up of a family of colleges across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire: Bedford College, Central Bedfordshire College and Tresham College in the towns of Bedford, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard, Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough; Shuttleworth College, a specialist land-based college; The Bedford Sixth Form, (the only dedicated sixth form in Bedford); The Corby Sixth Form, (opened in September 2023); and the National College for Motorsport alongside Silverstone race circuit. To widen accessibility to education and training, the Group also has community-based Learning Centres in Bedford, Corby and Kettering which offer IT training.

About The Role
We are currently seeking an Evening Receptionist to join our Customer Contact and Admissions department at The Bedford College Group.
As an Evening Receptionist, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Front of House & CustomerExperience – Deliver a professional, welcoming and high‑quality reception service, acting as the first point of contact for visitors, students, staff and stakeholders.
- Reception Operations & Administrative Support – Manage daily front desk activities including ID card production, visitor management, inbox handling, post distribution and maintaining organised systems.
- Communication, CRM & Enquiry Handling – Respond to enquiries across phone, email and face‑to‑face channels, accurately recording interactions on CRM systems and directing queries appropriately.
- Facilities, Events & Operational Coordination – Support enrolment, open days and college events, maintain a safe and tidy reception environment, and assist with stock control and administrative processes.
- Professional Practice, Compliance & Teamwork – Uphold safeguarding, GDPR, EDI and health & safety standards, working collaboratively with teams while maintaining a professional image and high service standards.
- Qualifications & Customer Service Experience – GCSE English and maths with proven experience in customer service or reception roles, delivering professional and welcoming front‑of‑house support.
- Customer Engagement & Communication Skills – Friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills, able to handle enquiries confidently across phone, face‑to‑face and written channels.
- Organisation, Systems & Workload Management – Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage busy workloads, maintain accurate records and operate effectively in a fast‑paced, open‑plan environment.
- Resilience, Teamwork & Problem Solving – Calm under pressure with the ability to manage challenging situations, prioritise tasks and work collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes.
- Professional Practice, Flexibility & Safeguarding – Committed to safeguarding, professional standards and College values, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends and travel across sites as required.
