Our Brighton Road Day Nursery in Surbiton is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our team. You will play a key role in caring for, supporting and inspiring our children, encouraging curiosity and helping them thrive every day.

About Our Nursery

Consider joining our Brighton Road, Surbiton nursery as it offers a bright, welcoming environment across four spacious rooms, filled with natural light and set within a secure site. With dedicated spaces for babies, toddlers and preschool children, it’s a well-organised setting designed to support both children and staff throughout the day.

You’ll also benefit from a fantastic garden designed to inspire outdoor learning and exploration for all age groups. Children enjoy hands-on experiences in the mud kitchen, experimenting at the water wall, and discovering the natural world through our bug hotel, all while developing essential gross and fine motor skills. We also offer forest school sessions, along with opportunities for large-scale mark making.

A separate, cosy garden area ensures babies can safely enjoy outdoor play, and with additional outdoor spaces just a short walk away, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to create engaging, varied learning experiences.

Location and Travel

For our commuting staff, we are conveniently located only a 5-10 minute walk from Surbiton train station which goes straight to Central London. We are also within easy reach of Surbiton High Street and not far from Kingston Upon Thames.

What You Will Be Doing

• Ensure that the children’s individual needs are identified and met
• Supervise and support the children at all times
• Carry out a wide range of interactive tasks including reading stories, helping at mealtimes, playing games, and changing nappies
• Act as a positive, practical role model for the children
• Develop friendly, professional relationships with staff members and parents
• Ensure you fully understand and follow Safeguarding Procedures
• Work towards gaining your Early Years qualification in a supportive and professional environment with hands-on experience
