Dual Service Officer - Riverside Shopping Centre, Hemel Hempstead

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of a Dual Service Officer is to provide multi-skilled on-site support—most commonly combining security and cleaning duties into a single role.

Key Responsibilities

• Security & Safety: Patrolling the premises, reviewing CCTV, managing site access, and de-escalating conflicts or responding to public incidents. This requires both SIA & CCTV licence’s.
• Customer Service: Assisting retailers, providing directions, and ensuring a welcoming, safe environment for visitors.
• Cleaning & Maintenance: Completing scheduled and reactive cleaning tasks, operating cleaning machinery and managing waste or recycling.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Conducting daily site inspections and reporting hazards or equipment faults to facilities managers.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Security & Surveillance: Front-line security experience, patrolling sites, incident response, and CCTV monitoring.

• Hygiene & Maintenance: Operation of commercial cleaning machinery, executing reactive and scheduled deep-cleaning tasks.

• Communication: Interacting professionally with staff, retailers, and the public, plus accurate shift reporting.

• Health & Safety: Hazard identification, strict adherence to site safety protocols, and ensuring equipment is fit for purpose.

• Conflict Resolution: De-escalating tense situations and responding quickly under pressure.

• Security Background: Previous hands-on work in corporate, retail, or event security environments.

• Cleaning: Prior experience in commercial cleaning services, site upkeep,

• Public Facing Roles: Customer service or public assistance experience where independent, on-the-spot decision-making is required

Working Hours - Min 66 Max 72 in a 9 shift block 3 days, 3 nights, 3 off.

Salary - £13.04ph
