About MPLC

MPLC is the legal way to show movies and TV in public or commercial spaces across the globe. For over 30 years, we’ve been the trusted partner to major Hollywood studios, independent producers, and the wider creative ecosystem, ensuring content creators are paid fairly and organisations respect copyright.

About Global Technology Services

GTS is technology at MPLC, all of it. And we are honest about where we are: we are rebuilding and elevating our technology capability, from the ground up and by design. New platforms, new data foundations, new roles: this team is being built for what MPLC becomes, not what it was. You will own real outcomes early, automate the repetitive rather than absorb it, and help shape the rebuild rather than inherit someone else’s. Technology is the engine of how MPLC grows. People are the fuel. AI is the turbocharger. That is where you come in.

The Role in Two Bullet Points

  • Lead Run, the live technology and security operation for a global business across 40+ countries, as the CIO’s deputy from day one.
  • Be a hands-on player-coach: steady and improve the estate yourself at first, then build a small, capable team that runs with automation, AI and security designed in, without heroics.

ResponsibilitiesThis isn’t a role for someone who wants to keep things ticking over. Running a stable service is the baseline here, not the finish line. At the start, you’ll be hands-on: there’s real work to steady and improve, and we need someone who can fix things as well as lead. Over time, the aim is for the estate to run without relying on you personally. If it still does after a year, the job isn’t done. As the team grows, the role settles to roughly half hands-on, with the rest spent coaching your team and clearing their path.

The structure around you is still taking shape as the business grows, so this won’t suit anyone who instinctively says “that’s not my area”. You’ll need presence: credibility with the executive team, the trust of your own team, and respect for what’s already working well. In return, you’ll have a rare chance to reshape how MPLC runs on technology.
RequirementsOur technology team is organised around three pillars: Plan decides what we do, Design & Build creates it, and Run keeps it alive. MPLC is going through an organisational and technological transformation, and Run is where that change has to hold. You’ll lead Run, reporting to the CIO, and partner with them on vision and strategy, with your operational evidence keeping that strategy honest. You’ll also spend a real share of your time working across the other pillars, because that’s where most of the value is made.

You’ll own:
  • Live service across 40+ countries: one front door, a published service catalogue, and response and resolution times the business can hold us to.
  • Security execution and accountability, working with our vCISO and SOC partner: identity and access, patching, vulnerability management, tooling, awareness and response.
  • The operations and security roadmap, shaped with the CIO and informed by what our investors expect.
  • Resilience: incident command, business continuity, and backup and restore you can prove.
  • Microsoft 365, devices and endpoints, offices, network and connectivity.
  • Salesforce operational administration, delivered through your team.
  • Partnerships with our managed service provider and operational suppliers, run to a written specification.
  • Joiners, movers and leavers as one end-to-end process with HR, increasingly automated.
  • IT policies, runbooks and recurring operational jobs, plus change governance and the run gate (Run’s operability view on every change before it goes live).
  • Leadership and development of the Run team.

You’ll work most closely with the CIO, our vCISO and SOC partner, the Business Transformation Manager (who leads Plan), the Design & Build team, and colleagues in Revenue Operations, Finance and across the business.
What good looks like:

  • Month 3: handover complete, early fixes landed by your own hands, the estate understood, and security and resilience gaps prioritised with a plan.
  • Month 6: backup and restore proven, the service catalogue and standards published, and the MSP running to specification.
  • Month 12: security posture measurably improved, service numbers published and improving, joiners and leavers largely automated, and the team running without heroics.

Benefits• Salary band: £100,000–£115,000 depending on experience.
• Remote Working with occasional travel.
• 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
• Private medical insurance (AXA), including dental, optical and 24/7 GP access.
• Life assurance at 3x base salary (Legal & General).
• Salary sacrifice pension with Aviva, 4% employer contribution.
