The Digital Demand and Business Analysis Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end Digital demand management capability and the Business Analysis function, ensuring demand is captured, assessed and prioritised effectively and that high quality analysis supports delivery across Digital.

The role owns demand intake and associated governance, and is accountable for providing clear demand insight, prioritised pipelines and decision support to enable effective portfolio planning and capacity management.

It works closely with business and Digital stakeholders to shape demand and leads the Business Analysis team to ensure consistent standards, quality outputs and alignment across the demand and delivery lifecycle.

Accountabilities

Business Analysis Capability – Lead and develop the Business Analysis capability, ensuring consistent standards, high quality outputs and effective alignment with demand and delivery across Digital. Provide direction, prioritisation and oversight of BA activity.

Demand Intake and Triage – Operate the end to end demand intake process, acting as the single point of coordination. Ensure requests are categorised, clarified and triaged with clear scope, urgency, value and dependencies. Facilitate structured triage forums and cross functional review.

Impact Assessment – Oversee and assure the quality of impact assessments covering strategic alignment, indicative cost and effort, feasibility, risks, constraints, capacity implications and delivery options. Provide objective analysis to support governance decision making.

Pipeline Management and Prioritisation – Own and manage a transparent, prioritised demand pipeline aligned to strategy, governance criteria and capacity. Provide clear visibility of demand and highlight bottlenecks, risks and dependencies.

Reporting and Insights – Produce forward looking demand profiles, dashboards and management information to support portfolio level planning. Provide insight and challenge to support effective decision making.

Stakeholder Engagement – Engage proactively with senior stakeholders to set expectations, clarify outcomes and manage competing priorities. Influence and challenge to support prioritisation decisions and alignment across Digital and business teams.

People Leadership and Development – Lead and manage the Business Analysis team, setting clear objectives, supporting performance, and developing individuals to build a strong and effective team.

• Demand management (Level 5) – Leads and governs the end to end demand lifecycle, ensuring consistent intake, assessment, prioritisation and visibility across Digital
• Business analysis (Level 5) – Provides leadership and assurance of business analysis activity, ensuring consistent standards, quality outputs and effective support across demand shaping and delivery
• Requirements definition & management (Level 4–5) – Ensures clarity, consistency and traceability of demand and requirements, supporting effective translation into delivery outcomes
• Governance (Level 5) – Applies and enforces structured governance across demand assessment and prioritisation, supporting effective and transparent decision making
• Financial analysis (Level 4) – Supports development of indicative cost and effort assessments to inform prioritisation and planning decisions
• Reporting (Level 4–5) – Produces and interprets management information, dashboards and insights to support portfolio level planning and decision support
• Capacity management (Level 4–5) – Works with teams to understand resource demand, constraints and dependencies to inform prioritisation and pipeline management
• Stakeholder engagement (Level 5) – Builds strong relationships and influences senior stakeholders, enabling alignment across competing priorities and demand
• Facilitation (Level 5) – Leads cross functional workshops, triage forums and governance sessions to drive clarity, alignment and decision making
• Communication (Level 4–5) – Produces clear, structured communication tailored to technical and non technical audiences, supporting effective engagement and decision making
• Business process improvement (Level 5) – Leads continuous improvement of demand management and business analysis processes, tooling and ways of working
• Information management (Level 4) – Ensures accuracy, consistency and integrity of demand data and associated artefacts
• Methods and tools (Level 4–5) – Applies and evolves methods, standards and tools to support effective demand and business analysis activities

Knowledge

• Proven experience in demand management, portfolio intake, PMO or digital operations
• Understanding of agile and hybrid delivery models
• Strong experience producing management information and reporting
• Experience working across multidisciplinary digital teams
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders
• Experience leading or coordinating analyst or delivery teams
  
  

Qualifications

• APM, SAFe, ITIL or equivalent.
• Business analysis qualification such as BCS
