We’re looking for a dynamic and motivated Deputy Theatre Manager to help support and lead our Theatre team at The Horder Centre; supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-focused care in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role
As Deputy Theatre Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operational leadership of our theatre department, deputising for the Theatre Manager and ensuring exceptional standards are maintained at all times.

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hours - 4 days per week 8am to 6pm)
Base Salary: up to £53,800.50 per annum

The Role
As Deputy Theatre Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operational leadership of our theatre department, deputising for the Theatre Manager and ensuring exceptional standards are maintained at all times.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the operational management of theatres to ensure safe, efficient service delivery.
- Leading, motivating, and developing a multidisciplinary team
- Maintaining high standards of clinical care, governance, and patient safety
- Ensuring compliance with CQC and national standards (e.g. NICE, NatSSIPs)
- Managing resources effectively, including staffing, equipment, and budgets
- Monitoring performance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Acting as a visible leader, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture
You’ll be instrumental in shaping a supportive and accountable team environment, including:
- Coaching and developing team members through appraisals and ongoing support
- Managing performance, wellbeing, and attendance
- Supporting training, induction, and continuous professional development
- Driving engagement, collaboration, and service improvement across teams.
We’re looking for a confident clinical leader who thrives in a fast-paced theatre environment.
Essential:
- RGN or ODP (Level 3 or equivalent)
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong clinical background within theatre settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support teams.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- A passion for delivering outstanding patient care
- A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
