DEMAND ANALYST MELONS UK

Fyffes

Date: 4 hours ago
City: Basingstoke
Contract type: Full time

Who we are:

We are Fyffes, one of the world's leading tropical produce companies. For more than 130 years, we have sourced, shipped and delivered high-quality fresh produce globally. With over 4,000 employees and a strong international network of growers and suppliers, we are committed to shaping wellbeing for the world through sustainable growth, innovation and strong partnerships.

Now we're looking for a Demand Analyst Melons UK to join our team, turning UK melon demand into accurate forecasts, insight and planning support.

Here's what you will do:

Support the commercial team by analysing UK melon demand and translating orders, forecast trends, promotional activity, seasonality, weather impacts and market dynamics into actionable planning insight. Your work will support service, availability, waste reduction and weekly and seasonal planning.

You will connect demand with sourcing, supply chain and operational teams, providing clear analysis, early risk visibility and performance reporting. The role is analytical and detail-driven, with a strong focus on forecast accuracy, demand visibility and planning discipline.

Some key responsibilities:

  • Analyse UK melon demand using orders, historical sales, promotions, seasonality, weather impacts and market trends.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate weekly and seasonal melon forecasts with clearly documented assumptions.
  • Track forecast versus actual demand and order movements, identifying variances, trends and root causes.
  • Produce demand, forecast, order and service reporting covering accuracy, bias, fill rate, availability, waste and key service drivers.
  • Support demand reviews, updates and planning inputs, providing clear insight for internal alignment.
  • Identify supply-demand gaps, shortfalls, oversupply, timing risks and demand changes early.
  • Support scenario analysis, mitigation planning, allocation discussions and improvements in reporting, communication and forecasting processes.

What you need to bring:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Agriculture or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in demand analysis, demand planning, supply chain, commercial analysis, fresh produce or FMCG.
  • Experience with retail demand, forecasts, orders, promotions or seasonal planning is advantageous.
  • Fresh produce, short shelf-life supply chain or melon experience is beneficial.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis capability, with ability to translate large datasets into clear insight.
  • Fluent English; Spanish or another language is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive communication, structured problem-solving, ownership and ability to work in a fast-paced perishable product environment.

What it is like to work at Fyffes:

We are ambitious but grounded, combining high performance with a people-first culture. Our leadership principles guide us every day: we play to win as one Fyffes, shape the future, cultivate a growth mindset, are transparent and inclusive, and are moved by doing good. We thrive on diversity and treat all candidates equally.

Interested? We look forward to hearing from you!
