Data Privacy Specialist - Office of General Counsel

The Data Privacy Specialist will act in a support role to the Global Data Privacy Counsel and Data Privacy Lawyer within the Firm's Global Data Privacy Team. The Global Data Privacy Team within the Office of General Counsel is responsible for co-ordinating the Firm's global data privacy compliance program and supports the Baker McKenzie member firms and entities across the globe on all aspects of data privacy compliance.  

Main Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and amending data privacy terms proposed by clients
• Completing client data privacy questionnaires and transfer impact assessments
• Reviewing and amending data processing agreements with vendors
• Supporting the team in carrying out Data Privacy Impact Assessments
• Co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional surveys on data privacy topics
• Assisting with the development and updating of data privacy notices and policies
• Supporting the development and enhancement of global data privacy policies and procedures
• Supporting the development of template documents, guidelines and procedures to help streamline and standardise data privacy compliance throughout the member firms and entities
• Assisting with intra-group data transfer arrangements and related contracts
• Assisting with Data Subject Access Requests and similar data subject rights
• Liaising with the Firm's Global Data Privacy Working Group, and other Firm bodies as needed, to include:
• Arranging meetings, preparing agendas and circulating minutes/action items
• Monitoring correspondence received into the Firm's general data privacy inbox
• Maintaining a repository for data privacy compliance records
