Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust someone who is passionate about developing and providing high quality, evidence based Crisis Intervention care and treatment to young people with moderate to severe emotional and mental health problems.

Working Pattern: 5 days a week from 9 AM to 5 PM

Location: Aldershot Centre for Health, Hospital Hill, Aldershot Hampshire, GU11 1AY

  • Provide clinical leadership within the crisis pathway, reporting to the Service Manager.
  • Deliver timely mental health assessments for children and young people (CYP) presenting in crisis within acute hospitals and Paediatric Emergency Departments, including deliberate self-harm assessments.
  • Work autonomously to assess and manage complex and high-risk cases from referral to discharge or transfer.
  • Collaborate closely with CYPS Community Teams, Intensive Intervention Teams, paediatric services, and alliance partners to develop robust crisis and contingency (safety) plans.
  • Coordinate care for CYP admitted to Paediatric Wards with mental health needs.
  • Provide clinical advice, consultation, education, and training to Emergency Department and Paediatric Ward staff to enhance mental health knowledge and skills.
  • Offer visible, credible leadership within the multidisciplinary team (MDT), supporting clinicians managing complex and challenging presentations.
  • Lead on maintaining clinical standards, governance processes, and evidence-based practice.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines, protocols, and training programmes relevant to crisis care.
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are upheld in line with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Communicate sensitive information effectively and compassionately to CYP and families/carers.
