What does the job involve?

Working as an essential part of our dynamic operations team in a 24/7 control room environment, responsible for the monitoring and control of multiple joint venture assets.

This role involves collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance with relevant codes and practices, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

  • Control and monitor the High Voltage Electrical Systems on and offshore.

  • Agree the release of plant and/or apparatus for work, testing, energisation and operation in accordance with Safety Rules.

  • Ensure the HV system is operated to comply with the Grid Code and Equinor Safety Rules and procedures.

  • Monitor the SCADA systems, respond to alarms and situations as necessary including remote operation.

  • Operational and safety switching duties, consent for the issue of Safety documents.

  • Liaise with the National Grid Control Engineers and the issue of Safety Documentation in accordance with the Grid Code.

  • Ensure production forecasting is provided to National Energy System Operator (NESO) and any instructions issued are acted upon in compliance with the Grid Code requirements.

  • Monitor and control of the Wind Turbines Generators.

  • Operate the Work Release system including activation and deactivation of work.

  • Preform Marine duties as per site requirements.

  • Be an active member of team safety and gain full knowledge of the wind farm`s emergency response plans and fulfil control room’s role in emergency situations.

  • ONC, equivalent qualifications or experience from a control room environment and an appropriate City and Guilds qualification will also be considered.

  • Understand electrical power systems and safe systems of work preferably within a discipline of electrical, SCADA or Controls & Instrumentation.

  • Fully IT is literate.

  • Experience as a Control Room operator within electricity network (desirable).

  • Experience as Senior Authorised Person will be considered positively.

  • Marine operation knowledge and experience – advantageous.
