Clinical Team Leader

Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Clinical Team Leader to join our compassionate team at Yorkshire Community Care. This leadership role will support our services across the region, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred clinical care and the professional development of clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary clinical team to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care.
• Coordinate day-to-day clinical operations, including rostering, caseload allocation and clinical governance activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, organisational policies and best practice guidance.
• Undertake regular clinical audits, risk assessments and incident reviews; implement action plans to drive improvements.
• Provide expert clinical oversight for complex care needs, including catheter and PEG management, medication management and airway/respiratory support where required.
• Support recruitment, induction and ongoing training; identify development needs and facilitate competency sign-off and reflective practice.
• Act as a point of contact for families, carers and external healthcare professionals, promoting collaborative and holistic care planning.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure clear, timely communication across the team and with stakeholders.
• Contribute to service development, policy review and quality improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes for people we support.
  
  

Person Specification

• Registered healthcare professional qualification relevant to the role (e.g. registered nurse) and current registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
• Minimum of 3 years' clinical experience in complex care, with evidence of leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of complex needs including PEG feeding, medication administration and respiratory/airway management (training can be provided for specific equipment).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to lead teams and build strong relationships with families and partner agencies.
• Proven ability to manage risk, incidents and safeguarding concerns with a calm, resilient and proactive approach.
• Confident in audit, quality assurance and implementing practice improvements.
• Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs and to provide clinical cover as required, including occasional evenings or weekend duties.

Shift Pattern

Flexible working pattern to meet service needs; will include occasional weekend and evening shifts.
