Clinical Pharmacist - Band 6 to Band 7 Progression

We have opportunities to work at BHFT at the Luton site for pharmacists at the band 6 entry point, or those seeking the next step in their career (band 6 or band 7 entry points, dependent on experience). Responsibilities Provide a high quality ward based clinical pharmacy service, rotating through the various rotations. This includes reviewing drug charts for safety and efficiency, drug history taking and medicines reconciliation, medicine supply, patient medication consultations, medicines optimisation services, discharge medication service (DMS) and other medicines management activities. Participate in departmental and regional education and training programmes. Undertake study towards obtaining the Certificate/Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice. Provide pharmaceutical advice on both supply and clinical issues to other healthcare professionals as requested. Provide medication related advice to patients, focusing on medicines stopped/started or changed in hospital and side effects profiles enabling them to obtain the maximum benefit from their medicines. Assist in the education and training of pre-registration pharmacists and other staff in training grades. Supervise the daily activities of junior pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants. Participate in all activities of the pharmacy dispensary as required, including dispensing, clinical verification of prescriptions, prescription review, accuracy checking of prescriptions and a high quality patient medication consultation service. Participate in late night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
