Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join a well established Clinical Coding Department at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Denbighshire
The post holder will be required to extract medical terms from clinical documents and translate to clinical codes for hospital activity at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd
Trainee Clinical Coders will be considered if we are unable to fill the post with a Qualified Clinical Coder. Trainee Clinical Coders will be placed on a Band 3 pay structure until they gain NCCQ status when they will move to a Band 4.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
You will have good knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. A keen attention to detail is essential to this role. You would be expected to keep updated of developments in clinical coding through internal training and specialty training courses, which could involve travelling.
In the instance of appointing a trainee we offer a comprehensive training package including Coding Standards Course and a internal trainee coder development course fully supported by experienced nominated mentors.
