Date: 4 weeks ago
City: Derby
Contract type: Full time

Ready to Run Your Own Branch?

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hands-on individual to help shape the future of the Cardiff branch. Reporting to an offsite manager, this role will take ownership of day-to-day branch performance, drive high standards, and help bring the branch fully in line with the Hydroscand image, culture and ways of working. The role is ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, takes pride in building strong teams and excellent customer experiences, and wants to grow a branch commercially and operationally while developing their own leadership career.

We are open to considering a wide range of candidates for this role, tailoring the package and support accordingly as we know that some candidates may not have all the experience this role requires now. Don't let that stop you applying, if you're interested in growing into the role, please apply with a covering letter explaining why you're ready to take this step in your career.

You can make a difference by...

  • Driving the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring it runs efficiently, safely and professionally.

  • Leading by example to raise standards across the branch so that it reflects the Hydroscand brand, image and ways of working.

  • Supporting the development of the branch team and mobile hose technicians through coaching, direction and consistent performance management.

  • Delivering excellent customer service and ensuring timely, professional communication with customers at all times.

  • Identifying and pursuing local sales and business development opportunities to grow branch revenue and strengthen customer relationships.

  • Responding effectively to customer enquiries and quotations, applying Hydroscand pricing guidelines and commercial judgement.

  • Maintaining high standards of branch presentation, housekeeping and operational discipline to create a safe, organised and customer-ready environment.

  • Overseeing stock accuracy, inventory control and order fulfilment to ensure dependable service and full traceability.

  • Coordinating call-outs and service support effectively during working hours and out-of-hours as required.

  • Providing practical technical support to branch and mobile teams, including hose assembly from customer patterns or drawings where needed.

  • Taking responsibility for compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental standards, ensuring processes and records are maintained in line with company procedures and ISO requirements.

  • Working with a high level of independence and self-motivation, confidently managing priorities and making sound decisions in the absence of onsite management.

  • Managing counter sales, cash transactions and system updates accurately in line with company processes.

  • Acting as a key holder and supporting all other reasonable duties needed to help the branch succeed and grow.

Could this be your next challenge?

  • Are you proactive, self-motivated and confident working independently, with the drive to take real ownership of branch performance?

  • Are you a natural leader who can develop, influence and inspire others?

  • Do you have experience in a branch, depot, trade counter or similar operational environment, ideally with some leadership responsibility?

  • Are you motivated by the opportunity to grow a business, raise standards and build long-term customer relationships?

  • Do you bring commercial awareness and confidence in identifying sales opportunities and supporting local business growth?

  • Are you comfortable working with stock control, operational processes and accurate record-keeping?

  • Do you understand the importance of Health & Safety and quality standards within a branch, warehouse or workshop environment?

  • Do you already have experience in hose assembly or a similar technical product environment — or are you mechanically competent and eager to learn through training?

  • Do you have good numeracy, IT literacy and administrative accuracy?

  • Are you practical and hands-on, with high personal standards and a strong commitment to customer service?
