About The Role Of Assistant Operations Manager
At Chevron Traffic Management, the Assistant Operations Manager plays a vital supporting role in ensuring the seamless and efficient functioning of regional operations. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will help oversee daily operations, support strategic initiatives, optimise resource allocation, and uphold quality and compliance standards across all activities.
You'll be instrumental in assisting with the supervision of regional teams, contributing to the expansion of our client base, and playing a hands-on role in developing long-term business initiatives. Your ability to build rapport with both existing and potential clients will be essential to driving customer retention and uncovering new opportunities.

Knowledge of the Traffic Management industry would be beneficial, but we also welcome applications from candidates with experience in Operations, Logistics, Planning, Construction, Utilities or a similar fast-paced environment. You will be a strong communicator and team player, able to build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers while supporting the delivery of safe and efficient operations.

About The Role Of Assistant Operations Manager

- Assist in motivating, guiding, and developing team members by ensuring they're fully trained and informed of all company policies, procedures, and safety practices
- Contribute to the implementation of toolbox talks, safety alerts, and project-specific methodologies
- Help monitor the depot's fleet, ensuring vehicles are well-maintained and efficiently deployed
- Liaise closely with the Operations Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams to share best practices and support business growth

What Good Looks Like For An Assistant Operations Manager
- A right to work in the UK unsponsored
- Full UK manual licence with no more than 6 points
- Experience in the Traffic Management, Construction, Utilities or similar industry
- Experience supporting or supervising a team within an operational environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong influencing and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues, customers and sector stakeholders
- Good numeracy skills with the ability to support budget, cost and commercial processes
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to support changing business needs
- Collaborative in approach
- Proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft Office software and ability to work with other business management systems and use remote technology
- Local knowledge of the region's construction and maintenance market, including National Highways, local authority highway maintenance or utilities highways works, would be beneficial
- TTME
- Lantra Sector Scheme qualifications (beneficial)
- IOSH Managing Safely/SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent
- Other formal commercial or business management qualifications
