Assistant Homelessness Support Worker

- Part time (4 hours per week- on a Saturday morning)

The role
The purpose of this role is to to support Petrus service users who attend the Saturday Breakfast Service at the Petrus Hub, providing people who access our service with a hot meal in a safe warm environment and supporting and connecting people into our wider support offers at Petrus and those offered in the wider community.
The right fit
- An understanding of the issues faced by people who are at risk of or are experiencing homelessness and or people with complex support needs.
- Ability to work with service users in a supportive, holistic and trauma informed way. To be able to assess need and work with the Petrus team to engage and signpost to the appropriate support as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of service users, volunteers, partners and stakeholders.
- Experience in a catering or community setting.
- To have completed or be willing to complete a Food Hygiene Level 2 Qualification.
- The ability to accurately record relevant health and safety checks and outcomes measures.
- To understand and support Petrus’ commitment to investing in communities and actively contribute to achieving this vision within the job role.
- A willingness to engage in activities that supports and promotes Petrus.
- Able to demonstrate personal organisational skills: attendance /timekeeping, planning workload; record keeping, use of IT, managing workloads effectively, meet deadlines.
- The post holder may on occasion be required to travel to other offices and therefore the ability to travel to other offices and locations which may not be easily accessible by public transport.
