As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting accurate, timely and compliant financial accounting and reporting activities across one or more entities within our Finance Shared Services Centre. Working closely with the Record to Report team and supporting intercompany processes where required, you will help ensure a smooth month-end close, maintain balance sheet integrity, and contribute to high-quality financial reporting and strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting entries in line with month-end deadlines.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Support month-end close activities, financial reporting and account analysis across assigned entities.
  • Prepare reporting schedules and working papers for management, statutory and group reporting requirements.
  • Assist with audit requests, ensuring supporting documentation is accurate and readily available.
  • Contribute to process improvements, operational excellence initiatives and continuous enhancement of finance processes.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Experience working in a similar role ideally from a shared services environment
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified, or studying towards a recognised accounting qualification is preferred
  • Yellow belt certified or experience with continuous improvement initiatives is highly preferred
