Students study a bespoke programme which is designed to meet their individual needs.
The role
You will play a key role in delivering engaging and meaningful art education, helping pupils to re-engage with learning, express themselves creatively and achieve positive outcomes. Key responsibilities include:
- Teaching Art to secondary-aged pupils, ensuring they develop skills, knowledge and confidence and make good progress.
- Planning and delivering a sequenced curriculum that builds learning over time and supports agreed outcomes.
- Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs, including timely intervention where required.
- Creating a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and creativity.
- Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and wider staff to support pupils’ academic and emotional development.
- Supporting the Thrive Practitioners in 1:1 and Group sessions.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of safeguarding and always prioritising the welfare of pupils.
About You
You will be a creative, committed teacher who is passionate about making a difference to young people. Ideally, you will:
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent preferred).
- Be able to teach Art to GCSE and/or Level 2 standard.
- Have experience teaching Art to secondary-aged pupils.
- Be confident in planning and delivering lessons using a range of teaching approaches.
- Have an understanding, or interest in, working with pupils with SEN or additional needs.
- Be calm, patient and resilient, with a positive approach to behaviour and engagement.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Be committed to safeguarding, inclusion and supporting every young person to reach their potential.

Salary& benefits
FTE salary: £27,510 - £34,200 per annum. Pro rata for 2 days a week, and dependent on qualifications and experience

Part-time: 2 days per week, chosen by the candidate.
Working hours: 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Thursday. School is closed on Fridays.
