At Speedibake we’re incredibly passionate about making delicious own-label baked goods. From our bakery in Bradford, we supply to a customer base across all channels; retail, foodservice wholesalers, contract catering, and export.

Overview Of Role

Location: Bradford

Over the 4 year course, students will work towards an Engineering qualification (Level 3 Mechatronics or Level 3 MOET). You will go on block release each year gaining technical know-how. When you're not at college, you'll be based at Speedibake putting your learning into practice.

Key Accountabilities

At College

  • Attend college as per college term dates
  • Attend lectures, practical’s and visits as per college learning plan, attend course team meetings and produce high quality learning notes
  • Pass all examinations (recommended minimum: 40% Distinctions, 60% Merit, 0% Pass, 0% refer, 0% fail)
  • Support College events (Social and audit eg OFSTED)
  • Produce apprentice college review statement (term summary and work plan) and send to mentor 1 week before arriving back at site.
  • Follow normal training provider policies (eg travel, work environment, health and safety, Food Safety)
  • Be a Speedibake Ambassador

On Site

  • Follow normal Speedibake policies (eg travel, work environment, health and safety, food safety)
  • Meet with mentor weekly in year 1 and then as required in Year 2, 3, 4
  • Record own progress to date (quality and performance) and review own learning log fortnightly
  • Discuss site training plan whilst at site with mentors/coach
  • Obtain day to day experience and training
  • Evaluate learning & complete documentation for area
  • Support sites at high volumes or extraordinary events
  • Be a leading example apprentice

The Right Person

You will need to impress us with your desire to learn and your ability to take the lead and make your career ambitions for the future a reality. You will have 3 good GCSE results (including Maths, English and a Science), plus 1 A Level or the equivalent and an interest in the food industry.

Candidates should be prepared to be away from home for short blocks of training.

It's certainly not for the faint-hearted - we'll expect you to work hard and be 100% committed to fulfilling your potential. You will take the lead in driving your own development and show energy, drive and passion as you work towards becoming a fully qualified multiskilled engineer
